This has been a turbulent month.

Miscellaneous Account#
This month has seen significant changes in my work. As the US tech giants gradually realized that they can maintain their existing business without significant expansion and without many employees, massive layoffs followed suit. Domestic companies have also started to imitate and follow suit, including our company. Various layoff information came one after another after the Spring Festival. There have been significant personnel changes in my team. Three old employees have been transferred, and some good friends who usually play together have also resigned. The team has welcomed some experts from other teams. Personnel adjustments are accompanied by adjustments in job assignments. I have successfully taken over the responsibility of the firewall in the previous team. My daily work has changed from coding to "filtering" for fault diagnosis, analysis, and assignment. I am exhausted every day dealing with fault handling and tracking, and the corresponding coding work and time invested have decreased. I still don't like this kind of work state, and I haven't adapted to it yet. I have thought about quitting and looking for a new job many times. Several colleagues in the team have been actively looking for jobs recently, but the traditional job market in the first quarter of this year seems particularly ironic under the current situation. They said they have applied to dozens of companies, but it feels like searching for a needle in a haystack. This gradually dispelled my idea of leaving.
So what should I do? Leaving is definitely something I will do, but the timing is not right now. From a social perspective, almost all companies are in a state of shrinking recruitment or even layoffs. It is like finding a needle in a haystack to find a job that satisfies me now. From a personal perspective, the team has undergone adjustments, and it is normal to feel uncomfortable or unadapted. It is also normal to have thoughts of leaving. Moreover, my current level is not allowed to compete with so many job seekers outside. So considering all aspects, I decided to learn from King Goujian of Yue and endure for a while, polish my technical skills, and make other plans when the time is right. That's it.
There have been quite a few changes in my life this month. I rearranged the table in the rental house. I originally planned not to rent this house this year (it's too small), but fortunately, it is close to the company, about a 10-minute bike ride. I currently don't plan to quit, so I will renew it for another year. Then I did a major decluttering, donating some clothes and shoes that I bought but never wore, and rearranged the space layout. It feels much more spacious, and I am more determined not to move for now.

📚 Reading#
Total books read: 0, 0 books completed, 1 book in progress
- "The Three-Body Problem" - Reading... I am still reading the original work. The reading volume of the three books is still too much for me. I will try to finish it by the next review.
🎬 Movies, TV Shows#
Total movies watched: 3, total TV shows watched: 1
Movies:
Recommended rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The last domestic sports film I watched was "Take the Crown". The narrative of sports films always gives people a feeling of ups and downs. This table tennis film falls from its peak and gradually returns to the top with the efforts of generations of Chinese athletes. It makes people feel passionate and is worth recommending. Unfortunately, it was originally scheduled for release during the Spring Festival, but it was postponed, which affected its box office performance. However, it does not affect its positive reviews.
Recommended rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I watched a movie starring Wong Cho-lam last year, "Still the Best", which was quite good as a Cantonese speaker. This movie refreshed my understanding of Hong Kong films. Hong Kong films are not just about action. It turns out that legal dramas can also be done so well, and the suspenseful part makes the viewing experience different. The plot twist is nice!
TV Shows:
Recommended rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I watched the first season before and quickly finished it after taking a day off. It's still good. I feel that the male lead is someone that many boys envy. He has someone he likes, someone who likes him, and even someone who is jealous of him. But in reality, it's not like that. Wake up, young man!
🎤 Podcasts#
This month, I completely switched to using Pocket Casts as my podcast listening software, so the presentation of the review will be different from before. Overall, this software is quite good, but it can't load without scientific internet access 😂. I listened to podcasts for a total of 32 hours this month. The main themes of the podcasts I listened to this month were related to ChatGPT because it's really popular 😁, followed by topics related to layoffs, as I am in the midst of it.

Podcasts that I found good:
- 536 The Rise of ChatGPT and Why It Can Steal Your Job
- ChatGPT's Breakthrough and the Anxiety of the Experts
- Google Layoffs and the Collapse of Company Values
- 立春 024|脸书被裁,字节裸辞,于是我们决定不回大厂上班了!
