October 2022 Review

Because of the National Day holiday, October passed by quickly, and it's time for another review. Looking back at this October, due to the approaching project delivery deadline, work has become busier and busier. Not only do I need to deliver requirements, but I also need to onboard new team members for new projects. This month, there was relatively less input and output overall. I hope to gradually find a balance between work and life.

📚 Reading#

A total of 4 books were read, 2 were completed, and 2 are currently being read.

  • You Are What You Eat
  • I Am an IT Bird, I finished reading this book during the National Day holiday and I can relate to some parts of it.
  • Dark Time - Reading..., this book looks good, but I haven't had time to read it attentively.
  • Why We Sleep - Reading..., I never finish reading this book 😂

🎬 Movies and TV Shows#

A total of 2 movies and no TV shows were watched.

The story takes place on a train in Japan and connects multiple assassination storylines. The male protagonist manages to escape danger every time, which shows that good deeds are rewarded and bad deeds are punished. A venomous snake from Africa is also introduced in the middle of the movie, which is quite scary 😱. Overall, the movie is quite humorous and I recommend watching it.

The story is set during World War I. The male protagonist enlists in the army without his mother's knowledge to prove himself. The story unfolds from there... The movie doesn't have many gory war scenes, but it focuses more on the development of the relationship between the male protagonist and his comrades, who unfortunately sacrifice themselves due to the war. War is ruthless and a tool for certain people to maintain "power", but soldiers and civilians are innocent. Because of the general's reputation, the male protagonist also falls before dawn. With the current instability in the world, a similar situation could happen to anyone of us, so it's important for this movie to show the true nature of war. May there be peace in the world!
